We believe the best chance children have to understand the importance of a good diet is by eating, and learning how to make, delicious food, cooked from scratch. We think chefs, taking on the role of producing and teaching about food in schools, are the right people to do this. Leading the kitchen on a varied menu of meals made from fresh ingredients. Sharing their passion for food with the students. Supporting school leaders to help pupils get the best out of their school days.
Children growing up in areas with the highest levels of socio-economic deprivation are twice as likely to leave primary school obese, with a life-long health consequences of an unhealthy relationship with food. We focus our work primarily in these areas, because we believe every child deserves the right to access, enjoy and learn about good, nutritious food.
We provide training, guidance and support to schools who want to dramatically improve the standards of food and food education. We help them to recruit chefs, who want to cook with purpose and share their passion for food with the next generation, and empower them to take on running their own school kitchens. We provide training for those chefs, to help them make the transition into a uniquely meaningful and balanced career choice.
Thank you for your support!
