Our purpose is the promotion of healthy lifestyles and recreation, in particular through the provision of facilities for playing football. We welcome players of all abilities across all age groups and we provide volunteering opportunities to local people who wish to become involved.
Why the community needs us
Clarbeston Road AFC has existed since 1960 and has been an important part of the community since then. In recent years the club has grown substantially and now has well over 400 members, 360 of whom are players. The club provides football for boys and girls from 6-16 years old, has 2 senior men's teams, a women's team and the Clarby Warriors, a pan-Disability team. The social events provided and hosted by the club are an important part of local community life.
Our impact on the community
As well as having 360 playing members, the club provides opportunities for volunteering across a range of roles and skills. Considerable progress has been made in the past few years to improve the club's playing facilities and to address the growing demand and interest in the club. This programme is continuing and the club has ambitious plans for the future. The club has worked with other community organisations to produce a Community Wellbeing Plan and supports local schools and other groups.
