The Charity is established to enable people with learning disabilities to access leisure and social activities in the community and the opportunities for personal development including self-advocacy. The Charity campaigns for and with people with learning disabilities for the rights of people with learning disabilities and works with other organisations and groups for the benefit of people with learning disabilities.

Why the community needs us
Colchester Gateway Clubs provides social clubs and activities for adults with learning disabilities. The main aim of our clubs is for people to enjoy themselves in a relaxed atmosphere. Members of the clubs are from the age of eighteen upwards with no age limit. All are appropriate for this age group. Colchester Gateway Clubs are dedicated to respect all individuals regardless of backgrounds, abilities and beliefs. Equal access is provided across the charity regardless of race, age, culture

Our impact on the community
Our membership increases monthly and our members are able to attend two clubs weekly plus visit a local nightclub quarterly, watch shows in London, watch concerts, have weekends away, visit theme parks, etc.
