We are a community wheelchair basketball club ran entirely by volunteers offering both participation and competitive opportunities to disabled and non disabled junior and senior players. Our aim is to empower disabled people and provide an environment where they can thrive alongside their non-disabled peers. The club uses inclusive sport to improve the health and well being of physically impaired disabled people through wheelchair basketball.
Why the community needs usBy offering safe, fun and inclusive wheelchair basketball sessions we are able to provide a much needed outlet to local disabled people where they can engage in physical activity at an appropriate level. The benefits to our members often go way beyond sport and include increased confidence, physical function, health, fitness and social well-being whilst also reducing the risk of isolation to our members.
Our impact on the communityOur club has approximately 30 members and we're constantly looking to recruit more junior and senior players. We provide weekly Development and Squad Training sessions and our team competes in the North Wales League. In addition we provide players for the regional performance teams, the North Wales Knights, who play in British Wheelchair Basketball's National League, Junior League and Women's League. We are very proud to have a number of players who represent Wales at junior age groups.
