We are a small registered, non-profit making charity in Corton. Our committee's aim is to maintain and improve the village playing field, along with its ageing pavilion. At present we are seeking funding to extend the pavilion and to create a new community hall for all, including residents and visitors to Corton alike. At present our 15 acre playing field is home to 5 football clubs who play at the weekend. We also hold weekly car boot sales from April through to October.

We are planning to build a new community room to hold the 20 or so clubs, groups and committees that run in our village. This will be a vital link for the elderly to have somewhere in walking distance to meet with their friends and neighbours. With the enclosed children's play area also on the field, our facilities would make it an ideal venue for small parties for youngsters and the 15 acres of grass area, perfect for older children. People of all ages will benefit from these renovations.

As we are still at the early stages of gathering evidence of need, the only noticeable thing is that the small committee have all worked together to leaflet drop at every single house in the village. We asked for a village survey to be completed, ticking all classes, groups and meetings that people would be interested in joining. Any new ideas were welcomed. We returned to each home to ensure the best possible collection of forms and were encouraged to learn one in four households responded.
