We provide support sessions for young people who are struggling with their grief. These include memory making activities and opportunities to understand what happened, what death means and how it has changed your life.
Why the community needs usResearch consistently shows that unresolved grief can lead to devastating life outcomes. We don't want any young person in Highland to be left in that situation. By listening and acknowledging a young person's grief experiences, we can reduce the likelihood of depression, risky behaviour, low school performance, self-harm and a whole range of other negative outlets for unresolved grief.
Our impact on the communityWe generally work with around 50 families each year, offering a Day to Remember to each grieving child referred and targeting more specific support where there is a greater need and the capacity to meet that need.
