DAGE combats social isolation for older people, giving them the chance to get the most out of life.
Established in 1971 to combat the social isolation of Deptford pensioners, DAGE today offers a week-day pop-in centre for friendship, advice and information, signposting and volunteering opportunities, including in DAGE's furniture re-use project.
Why the community needs usDAGE acts an extended family to many otherwise single pensioners without close family, friends, and neighbours. It lifts their spirits, offering a setting for making friends and serving as a bridge to accessing local services, benefits and support.
Our impact on the communityDAGE literally gives older people life - a reason to get up in the morning to enjoy friendship over refreshments. DAGE pensioners are mentally and physically stimluated through taking part in DAGE's weekday pop-in, and on going outings/cabarets.
