We're a volunteer-run not-for-profit company which manages much of the weekend DalesBus network, providing access into and around the Yorkshire Dales for everyone. Over 50,000 journeys were made on our bus services in 2023-24, generating many social, well-being, economic and environmental benefits for the area.

We're owned by Friends of the Dales (registered charity number 515384), which campaigns for the protection and enjoyment of the Yorkshire Dales.

DalesBus services are not commercial and the costs of providing the bus services are only partly covered by fares and reimbursement for passengers using concessionary passes. The funding gap is filled by financial support from North Yorkshire Council, West Yorkshire Combined Authority (Metro), sponsorship from many commercial and charitable organisations, donations from organisations such as user groups and town/parish councils, and individual donations.

The annual funding requirement for the DalesBus network is around £250,000 (after fares and concessionary reimbursement). To help maintain and develop the DalesBus network we need further funding and would appreciate your support.
