As the only dedicated dance house in the East Midlands, we help people to enhance their lives through dance and related art forms, offering an engaging programme of performances, producing and participation events. Our Dance Development and Learning Team work with local schools and groups within the community to address key issues including education, health and wellbeing, and social issues with some of the hardest-to-reach groups in Derby
Why the community needs us
Whether it's by offering a one-to-one workshop, supporting school curriculums, or helping young people find their creativity and flourish as they achieve their Arts Award, our mission is to enable all to have their lives enriched through dance and the arts. Deda is fully accessible, has three beautiful studios that host a class schedule of around 50 classes a week and has an extensive community outreach programme. Deda is one of the key cultural organisations in the city.
