A better future for homeless people

Derventio Housing Trust tackles homelessness head-on, providing accommodation, support and opportunities to help people who have lost their way to get back on their feet. Our services include shared supported housing and support to access the private rented sector. We also offer a range of learning and volunteering opportunities to help people achieve their goals and aspirations.

Why the community needs us

Homeless people are some of the most excluded and disadvantaged people in our society. Supporting people to find suitable housing and live independent and stable lives has benefits for the whole community. It can reduce crime and anti-social behaviour. It means that people are healthier and frees up health and social care resources. It also means that more people are in work, education or training, which is good for the local economy.

Our impact on the community

Last year we supported more than 1,300 people. The comments and feedback from our tenants shows the difference our services have made: "A big thank you. 2 years on I'm still happy, feeling settled and have got my home looking beautiful" "It is one step closer to getting my own place and getting my life back on track" "I was in a very scary situation when I first came to Derventio and they were nice to me and made it so easy" "Derventio has changed my life for the better"
