Our first social promise was to dance with children of all creed, colour, size & hair-style & to work with any child who loved R'n'B music & loved to dance. Our second promise was never to ask them to take exams but to offer theatre performance opportunities for every member of the group, from the best dancer to the newest or the weakest. We come as a team! We teach individuals & make them the best they can be. It's about them, not about us. We use dance to tell stories & deliver our message.

Why the community needs us

In 2013 our community projects are: STREET WHEELS, a series of street-dance workshops for wheelchairs users. URBAN FUNK, a collaboration of hip-hop dancers & skateboarders producing new choreography & a performance piece. The Story of CARMEN JONES, a Hip-Hopera - retelling Bizets opera as a dance show, introducing young people to opera & music they might not otherwise come across. Our 20yrs of experience means we really know how to reach disaffected young people, producing positive results.

Our impact on the community

Delving into communities to discover talent among young people who didn't know they could get training & actually perform on stage, is truly wonderful. Seeing them develop all sorts of skills because of their new-found confidence is a further positive outcome. Breaking down prejudices of size, race, social status, economical situations through the medium of dance is possible because dance is another world - an incredible one!
