DIAL offers free impartial advice and information to disabled people by disabled volunteers.
DIAL is an information and advice service helping disabled people, carers or anybody with disability related problem, of any age and any disability to access the relevant services and benefits that will help to improve their quality of life.
Why the community needs usWe help disadvantaged people in their local community by volunteers trained to deliver the information. By living locally volunteers have more local knowledge to advise the clients more effectively. Our service helps to relieve pressure on other groups and where some can advise on a particular issue we will advise on many issues (a one stop shop) saving them telephoning /or visiting different locations. We operate a signposting and referral system when necessary to benefit all our clients.
Our impact on the communityDIAL helps people by offering them an all round service in one location on a one to one basis. DIAL helps to maximise their income, helping to improve social inclusion, improving their quality of life and that of their families and carers. We make a person feel valued again and offer our volunteers the opportunity to improve their confidence and skills, receive certified qualifications and to prepare them to re-enter the workplace following a bad period in their life.
