
The aim of the project is to provide an environment that will benefit a range of individuals including children and young people with disabilities and local schools. Individuals will gain skills and confidence, self esteem and self sufficiency thus enabling them to participate more fully in society. It provides an awareness of growing and producing healthy food as well as reducing waste through composting and recycling.
Why the community needs usDiggin It is an integral part of the local community providing a safe, nurturing, learning environment to engage effectively with individuals to increase social and emotional skills and to support transitions to adulthood.
Our impact on the communityDiggin It participants have been supported back into employment from long-term sick and disengaged children and young people have been supported to continue with academic studies. The project provides skills, confidence and self esteem and has been responsible for empowering volunteers and the local community to live healthy lifestyles.
