'To provide homeless families, living in temporary accommodation in the London Borough of Camden, with access to services that make sure adults, children and young people all secure the emotional and practical support they require to underpin a good quality of life. To both create opportunities and to support families to make the best use of any opportunities which arise.'
Why the community needs usBy collecting goods from the local community we are able to hold weekly 'bazaars' providing free gently used clothes, toys, books, bedding, baby equipment, general household goods and home making basics. Providing volunteering opportunities and through joint activities and community partnering we build bridges, raise awareness and bring together people from the opposite ends of the social and economic spectrum to share time and engage with one another.
Our impact on the communityDoorstep helps an approximately 200+ people in a year. Last year's Step to Employment Work Club offered support to 27 people to access employment or develop skills which lead to employability. Of the 96 children who accessed our services, eleven made a good transition to nursery and school, 5 children improved their social skills and a four improved their communication skills, 3 improved their spoken and written skills, 4 improved their reading ability and 3 demonstrated improved self confidence
