To enable every child, from every background in Dorset to experience, engage and benefit from regular forest school sessions in a natural environment. Dorset Forest School aims to achieved this by providing positive experiences and achievable tasks where individuals are motivated and inspired to extend their own learning in a woodland environment. This leads to enhanced personal, social and emotional skills such as independence and self-discovery.
Why the community needs usDorset Forest School aims to nuture a natural stewardship within families to conserve and protect woodlands for the next generation. Dorset Forest School's main objective is to provide forest school to those children who would benefit from it most i.e. those in socio-economic poor areas and those with inclusion challenges. It will plough any surplus money into those poorly funded areas. Longer term, the company would also direct profits towards buying/planting a new woodland for educational use.
Our impact on the communityOur main outcomes would be to enable: More families inspired to engage with nature and become stewards for the natural world. More families knowledgeable about the natural world and aware of the benefits of playing outside. Improved physical and mental well being for all family members as families spend more time outside.
