Many Dorset residents feel privileged to live in this part of the world, however, not all are equally fortunate. Our Hidden Dorset Report revealed key issues facing local communities:a high incidence of older people residing in the county, lack of skills and qualifications amongst young people, mental health issues experienced by a large number of people. The Dorset Fund was set up to provide funding to support groups and individuals dealing with these issues.

The Dorset Fund has been set up to specifically support issues affecting communities across the county. The current ones - older people, mental health and skills and education for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds were chosen from research undertaken by the Foundation and if these change in the future donations to the Dorset Fund will be helping local individuals affected by other difficulties.

We hope to improve the lives of disadvantaged people and also individuals at risk in order to help build stronger communities.If you live and work in Dorset you will be able to see and feel the benefit of your donation!
