The DPA has a long and distinguished history of protecting the special qualities of Dartmoor. In Victorian times we fought to preserve the rights of commoners on Dartmoor against the encroachments of large scale agriculture. Today many of members work in our active conservation group to maintain natural habitats and look after Dartmoor's fabulous archaeology. It's physical, but everyone works to their own ability.
