Providing support, awareness and recovery services for Mental Health within the Black Country.
Welcome to Dudley Mind. We're here to make sure anyone with a mental health problem has somewhere to turn for advice and support. We aim to improve mental health awareness and to support people who have mental health problems in their recovery. We run and coordinate a range of mental health community services and mental health promotion projects. We support self help groups and have a befriending for people who are isolated and find it difficult to get out of the house. We also provide training in mental health to groups and organisations from people who have lived experience of mental health issues. Why the community needs us
I in 4 people will experience a mental health problem. The Dudley Borough has a population of 313,000 (according to the last 2011 census) so mental health effects many people within Dudley. Dudley Mind can also provide advice and information to friends and family members of people with mental health problems are are often unable to access this support. Our impact on the community
Recent feedback from people who use our services has told us how valuable and essential they are to them. Our services provide the social contact and meaningful activity that people would be unable to access anywhere else. Feedback from attendees of our training services have highlighted how informative and rewarding the training has been and how it has helped to remove many of the prejudices they may have previously held regarding people with mental health problems.
Volunteers who are able to communicate well and have an interest in mental health are needed. Please contact Kate for more details
