Daventry | Community Support & Development
DVC has been a Volunteer Centre recruiting volunteers and matching them with charities and not for profit organisations in the Daventry District of Northamptonshire, for over 20 years. In addition DVC is the Local Infrastructure Organisation for the Daventry District, providing support to local groups and organisations in their set up and development, and offering funding advice and other help with capacity building advice.
Why the community needs usOur projects provide essential services to the most vulnerable people in our communities, and fill the gaps that local authority funding cuts have created. The Volunteer Centre also recruits volunteers for around 90 local charities, including our own projects, by offering a wide range of volunteering opportunities for local people to get involved in.
Our impact on the communityVolunteering benefits local people in a number of ways - improving employment opportunities by increasing skills/CV, helping people to make friends and get involved etc. DVC had 850 volunteering enquiries during 2011/12, and referred volunteers to 89 organisations. Our Projects: Brushes&Spades, Time Banking, Finding Your Way, Happy@Home
