East End Community Foundation is a brand new charity formed after the merger of two neighbouring community foundations, IDCF and St Katharine and Shadwell Trust. Building on the combined experience and expertise of both charities, East End Community Foundation is a grant maker funding projects supporting people in need across the boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Newham and the City of London. The charity also delivers projects directly, including training and employment schemes.
Why the community needs usEast End Community Foundation funds and delivers projects that make a genuine and lasting difference to people's lives. For example, by offering training in business administration and links to apprenticeship hosts, young people can gain a qualification and build a track record of employment. Elders are supported by funding luncheon clubs and day trips, and with social events. Study support weekends for schools help pupils to improve their grades in key subjects.
