East Ardsley Cricket Club is a friendly, open club run by players and volunteers. We are committed to promoting Cricket for all in the community. We aim to develop youngsters (both sexes) to play the sport and take an active part in their club. We currently have four Junior teams (U9's/U13's/U15's/U17's) along with three Senior teams. All funds are raised through sponsorship and social events with the aim of improving club facilities for all who use them. We are a not for profit organisation and have access and facilities for the disabled. 2012 is the second season we are running an U9's team. This has been possible due to starting U6's cricket fun sessions on a Fri evening for the past 3 years. We also run a cricket summer camp to get local children involved with their local club. We are always looking to improve our facilities to encourage more people to take up the sport - and stay in the sport. We also have social events which bring together juniors, seniors and families
Why the community needs usWe provide qualified ECB Level 2 coaches to develop cricket and general fitness skills of the community. We provide equipment for those just wanting to give the sport a try and the potential for dedicated volunteers to become coaches themselves. We run summer camps every year during school holidays and cater for children from as young as 5 years old. We also provide a place in the community for people & groups to meet. Our facilities can also be hired out to celebrate birthdays or other events.
Our impact on the communityThrough training and development of skills, we see an improvement in self confidence and improved team working skills. We also see the building of life skills such as communication as people take on responsibilty for their club, such as organising events.
