Eden Park provides housing and support for parents and parents-to-be, aged 16-24, including single mums, single dads and families. Our aim is to prevent social exclusion and promote equal opportunities and respect. We create individually tailored support packages and resettlement plans for each of our clients to make sure they have the skills they need when they move on to their own homes.
Why the community needs us
Eden Park opened in 2005 in response to the high teenage pregnancy rate in the local area. We offer 12 one-bedroom flats and one two-bedroom flat which provide a safe and secure modern home, with indoor and outdoor play areas for children. We also work closely with other local services such as children centres, connexions, CAB, welfare rights, the local council to provide up to date and relevant sessions for our clients.
Our impact on the community
To date Eden Park has supported approximately 150 families to go on to sustain tenancies with the local council. When at Eden Park we support clients to become independent, work out budgeting plans, with cookery and healthy eating skills, gain confidence through attending groups and address any other issues which they may have.
