Ellington is a rural community in the former coalfields area of Northumberland. There's very few facilities or resources within the village and opportunities for children to engage in activities and events are limited. Ellington Juniors FC are now in its 21st year and throughout it has been run by parent volunteers to provide opportunities for children of all ages of Ellington/beyond.

Why the community needs us

We beleive that EJFC makes a significant contribution to the young people who live in our community. The club enables them to engage in sporting and social activities within their own community. They can take part in weekly coaching and football matches which can have a positive impact on their outlook and creates a great sense community and team spirit. A lot of the players go on to be coaches and help other children enjoy the sport.

Our impact on the community

We currently have teams playing in mini soccer and football leagues with in the Northumberland FA region from under 7's to under 17's.We offer weekly training sessions and opportunities to play in competitive matches through out the year. During training the players learn and develop age appropriate skills associated with football as well as a range of life skills, team work, supporting others and fair play. We believe this approach helps the development of all the members of the club.
