A Drop-In for female asylum seekers who are experiencing hardship and social isolation in Staffs
To support female asylum seekers, refugees, and their children, who have little, or no statutory support, or are about to have their support withdrawn.
Why the community needs usEmbrace provides a weekly 'Drop-In' service in Stoke-on-Trent for female asylum seekers, refugees, and their children, who are experiencing hardship and social isolation as a result of the asylum process. The Embrace 'Drop-In' provides a non-judgemental, peaceful and safe space where the women can connect with each other, make new friends and be embraced into the local community.
Our impact on the communityEmbrace aims to offer emotional and physical support, create opportunities for education and expression, signpost to local agencies and organisations and to provide a platform for the women's voices to be heard in the local and wider communities. For some women, the weekly 'Drop-In' provides the only possibility of 'real' contact with another human being all week. We believe that every woman who attends the 'Drop-In' should be treated with dignity and respect.
