Equine Partners CIO has been set up to help struggling families / children / teenagers by learning with horses. With the horses we can help them learn to cope with what life has thrown at them. Development and ethical practice are important to us, We follow the ILM (Institute of Leadership and Managment ) code of practice to ensure that we provide high-quality sessions and offer a solutions-focused approach to therapy. Families enjoy learning in a protected space with lots of laughter and fun. They will discover new skills and recognise skills they already have as well as be offered strategies that they can choose to use in their family situation. The horses are all friendly and used to having visitors. They are perfect for helping families explore new ideas whilst being great to cuddle when that is whats needed.
Why the community needs us
We work with children and families who are struggling to cope with day-to-day life, this may be due to bereavement, relationship breakdown, or physical or mental health-related issues etc, We aim to offer a solutions-focused approach to life's problems. Including horses in a therapeutic context offers a non-judgmental environment, and the animals provide their own clear feedback! Families become more settled, enabling family life to develop the way the family would like it to. Children learn about themselves and their talents, how to manage their emotions and cope with the complexities of life All this enables them to cope in other environments and so continue their education and have brighter futures.
Our impact on the community
Following sessions with us, children have succeeded in school when previously they were not attending at all. Many have discovered how to manage their emotions or cope with challenging situations or diagnosis This enables them to make life work more comfortably for them. Families have stated that they live a more harmonious home life and are able to resolve issues within the family unit successfully. As children are able to attend school it has released parents from the pressures and worries of having a distressed child to support and so they are able to become more active members of wider society. As children and teenagers are more able to access education it gives them better life chances as well .
