Surprise Santa - Grotto on the Go
Our preparation for the visits begin in October, when we organise a Toy Drive to collect presents for the families. We support a volunteer team of over 100 people to help organise and wrap these presents and by December, Santa and his elves go out on the Grotto to visit families, community groups and local hospitals. This project is volunteer led but we need help to cover bus costs, specific accessible gifts for children with disabilities and material costs associated with Grotto decoration.
Why they need our service
Our Surprise Santa 'Grotto on the Go' visits support hundreds of people across Warwickshire, delivering Christmas presents with Santa to families who cannot access traditional Grottos at Christmas. In the past, we have visited families with poorly children and parents, those who are facing huge challenges in their lives and those who are facing or experiencing bereavement. Whilst we cannot change anything for the families, we can provide them with lasting memories.
Plan and expected results
Our Surprise Santa visits aim to bring families together to make lasting memories at Christmas time. Last year we visited over 1000 people and we aim to increase this number every year. Our project make a huge difference to families experiencing hardship and bereavement. Donations will helps us extend our services over Warwickshire, supporting more children, families, and patients across our major hospitals.
