Hereford | Housing / Homelessness
Charity tackling homelessness, food poverty, and offering support for personal development. Focuses on proactive assistance and skill-building for work reentry.
We are a charity that has its roots in homelessness, we are a group of people with over 50 years of experience supporting people. We felt that something more needed to be done to help people, at the point they needed it, instead of when they reached crisis. A core part of what we wanted to do was to help people in food poverty, we also wanted to fight food surplus. So we started The Living Room. Ethos, wanted to create a space where people could access support and signposting for a range of issues from housing advice, money matters and wellbeing.
Ethos works on an asset based model where we look at peoples strengths not weaknesses and enable people to support themselves by offering no judgmental assistance in house and by signposting to other agencies or community groups.
We offer a range of ways to get involved through sharing a skill with others if you want to volunteer to giving a helping hand to new groups that what to highlight an issue in the county. We also help people to gain essential work skills to get back into work after a period of unemployment.
