Exeter Food Action works with wholesalers, manufacturers, retailers and farmers, rescuing good, nutritious food, preventing it from going to waste, such as in landfill, by incineration or being used as animal food.

Before dispatching the food we've saved, we sort and store it in our warehouse where we run fridges, freezers and chillers. Then, with only one full-time and two part-time members of staff, and the support of over fifty amazing volunteers, we deliver it to over sixty-food banks and community groups in Exeter and across Devon, providing food that struggling families and individuals might otherwise be unable to afford.

In 2023, through the deliveries we were able to make, we managed to get 118 tonnes of food onto the tables of people who need it, exceeding the total for the previous year and a 500% increase on six years earlier when we first registered with the Charity Commision. To provide some kind of context, the food we delivered last year weighed roughly the same as three Boeing 737 planes.

Like many organisations, however, we're facing ever-rising demand and increased costs. Just keeping our fridges and freezers humming and paying our rent costs thousands of pounds a year, Frankly, it's a struggle, so please consider supporting us if you can.

Thank you for any help you're able to give, however small. We can't do this without you!
