As the community resource centre and only community provision in Fallowfield we have a wide mix of users all the way through from tots who come to story time to older people who come to socialise or volunteer. We have activities for families, young people, older people and we support people who are unemployed, low skilled, financially excluded or socially isolated as well as members of the community who want to take up hobbies, learn new skills and wish to meet other local people and learn new skills through volunteering.
Our projects are community driven and based on what the community tell us they need. We are based in a multi cultural area and our demographic reflects that our service users cover a wide range of ethnicities including Arab, Bangladeshi, Ukrainian, Somali, Hindu, Chinese and Polish as well as English and Irish. However its not just our service users that are culturally diverse so are the projects that run from the centre including Language and culture of Bangladesh, Talk English, Sai Baba and a samba drumming band all reflective of our neighbourhoods cultural make up.
The impact of all we do in the centre is huge in this community, this is the place people turn to for help and guidance, companionship, activity , learning and new skills.
