The aim of the Sea Cadets is to help young people towards responsible adulthood and to encourage them to reach their potential by developing valuable personal attributes and high standards of conduct, using a nautical theme based on the customs and traditions of the Royal Navy and by giving young people the best possible head start in life through nautical adventure and funThe Sea Cadets is a national organisation with 400 units across the UK. Each unit is a registered charity in its own right, and relies solely on voluntary contributions and local support to maintain their Buildings, Equipment etc. The Marine Society and Sea Cadets is the holding charity and they provide Leadership and management to all Sea Cadet Units. There are four units in Pembrokeshire, including Fishguard. The Sea Cadets introduces youngsters from the age of 10 – 18 years in activities of a nautical theme, including teamwork, management, self-discipline, reliability and this gives them the status they need to be better citizens in their communities. They understand the work/life balance and work ethics
