The Holme Valley Food Bank – also known as Food Bank Volunteers (Holme Valley) – is an independent, constituted community body that works in collaboration with other organisations to provide help to people in need in the Holme Valley with emergency food provisions.
Our aim is to support people in greatest need in the Holme Valley with an emergency food bag. We help people in need to fill the gap before more permanent arrangements can be made to make sure they have sufficient resources.
When Covid-19 struck in early 2020, rising demand levels doubled overnight. Now, with the rising cost of food and energy, we are helping more people than ever.
We are run mainly by volunteers, all of whom give their commitment each week to activities including operating the Food Bank phone, running the finances, provisioning food stocks, packing food bags, collecting donations from food collection points, delivering food to recipients, maintaining social media sites, thanking donors and liaising with other organisations. We really do appreciate your support.
