Friend was formed in 1981 as a Mental Health Community Support Group. We now have two resource centres in Clevedon and Weston-super-Mare. Friend offers a range of services including drop in facilities, holistic therapies, art and yoga groups and 1-1 support to encourage people to engage in community activities including voluntary work. We also offer advocacy services, advice on all aspects of welfare rights,health promotion, counselling support and Borderline Personality Disorder support groups

People with mental health problems are one of the most excluded groups in society. Social exclusion is an important risk factor for deteriorating mental health and suicide. Friend provides a safe and welcoming environment to help people build confidence and trust. We work with people to increase their confidence and self esteem and encourage them to engage in community activities including training and employment.
