Our local park is in need of upgrading. We are a group of local parents and grandparents who formed Friends of Seel Park to make a difference to the park and to benefit local children. When we contacted our local councillor we were told there was no money available.
We are a determined group and after contacting the council ourselves and having a conversation with them they are trying to work with us. There is still no money but we explained that we are happy to do what we can to improve the park. The Council provided us with paint and we set about painting the railings. We asked if the cattle grids that formed the entrance to the play area could be removed and replaced with self closing gates. Which they are. These are small changes that make a huge difference.
But what we need is a large amount of money to make the improvements to the surface. To replace the existing surface we are looking at roughly £25,000. As you can see we have a huge task ahead of us. So we are trying to raise funds via grant applications, quizzes and a raffles to buy some new equipment and get the area resurfaced.
If you are able to give a donation, no matter how small to support us for this very worthy cause we will be very grateful. Thank you for taking the time to look at our page.
