Friends of St Luke's supports St Luke's School in Redbourn. It is a Special Educational Needs School for children with Learning Disabilities and Complex Medical Needs including but not limited to Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Speech and Language Communication Needs and Moderate Learning Disabilities. It is attended by children from all over Hertfordshire aged between 7 and 16 years.
Friends of St Luke's aims to raise awareness of Special Educational Needs, support our pupils to develop a deep understanding of themselves as an individual, whilst securing the vital funds needed for specialist sensory equipment, sports equipment and learning opportunities.
We are currently raising money to improve and equip our sensory spaces in the school. Sensory spaces play a vital role in creating a supportive environment for students with sensory processing challenges. These spaces provide a safe and calming space where students can regulate their sensory input, reduce stress, and enhance their focus and engagement in learning activities. By improving these spaces, we are investing in the well-being and academic success of our students.
The benefits of sensory spaces extend beyond the classroom. They provide students with opportunities to develop self-regulation skills, improve social interactions, build confidence in their abilities to cope with various sensory experiences.
Your contributions will enable us to equip our sensory spaces with a variety of tools and resources specific to meeting the diverse needs of our students. From sensory-friendly seating options to interactive sensory panels and calming sensory materials, every donation will help to create an enriching and supportive environment where our students can thrive, feel safe and valued in their school journey.
Thank you very much for your support.
