We are working to improve the park for all local people to enjoy and access. We are also striving to secure the long term future of the park. We undertake regular community events such as children's gala in September every year and Christmas lantern parade. We have also planted spring bulbs and trees, established a community orchard and wildflower areas. We also collect litter and work with local police to try to reduce anti social behaviours and make the park feel safe and a welcoming place
Why the community needs us
Local people walk through he park every day and we are trying to encourage children to play in the park and enjoy the benefits of outdoor play.We have a loyal band of volunteers who work within the park to improve its appearance and attractiveness including projects to plant trees and bulbs. We also work with other local voluntary groups eg scouts and local schools to encourage their awareness and knowledge of nature in the local environment. We have sought to improve access to the park for all.
Our impact on the community
We help schools in the area. local residents with mobility needs and residents of the two new housing estates to access the park and join in local community activities that are held in the park eg to help and enjoy the children's gala and meet and make new friends
