We are a small Constituted Community Group of volunteers formed in 2017 who aim to encourage and support community ideas and projects from seed to oaks!
Our underlying aim is to bring together the Villages of Gilwern, Maesygwartha, Llanelly Hill and Clydach through supporting and enhancing an inclusive community from the roots up that is viable, sustainable, and resilient both ecologically and socially.
Everything we do is free to take part in - we believe in accessible spaces and events whatever your age or whatever your pocket can afford.
We currently run:
* Gilfest - an annual free to enter festival - this year's festival will be on Saturday 3rd September 2022
* Roots Cafe - a 'pay what you can' community cafe and food pantry - every Tuesday morning, 10am - 12 noon at the Gilwern Community Hall.
* An annual Scarecrow festival - with locally donated prizes - to be held on 2 - 5 June 2022.
* Gilwern Grows - community growing on small local plots
* Litter picks throughout the year - next one is Sunday 29th May 2022
We are always open and happy to support any new community ideas or projects, so please get in touch. We would love to hear from you!
