GACAC raises money to make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children across Berkshire.
We raise money for disadvantaged children living in Berkshire to help them live more rewarding lives. These include those with physical/learning difficulties, psychological/behavioural issues, those in care and those living in areas of deprivation.
Why the community needs usOur Vital Signs research highlights the current need in Berkshire. Homelessness in Berkshire worsened between 2012 and 2014. In Slough at least 20% of homes were overcrowded and in Reading homelessness has increased by 700% in three years, and had around 10,000 people on its housing waiting list. In addition, 27% of children in Slough are living in poverty.
Our impact on the communityWe have helped young people improve their lives with wheelchairs, computers, learning aids and respite breaks. We have supported groups with training, equipment, funding of community projects as well as toys and books.
