Grow-Wellbeing C.I.C. is a black-led not-for-profit organisation working across Wirral, Liverpool City Region and Cheshire. We provide innovative and impactful opportunities for children, young people, and adults to connect with the natural environment.

Established in 2018, our programmes and initiatives of forest learning, creative arts, storytelling, community gardening, outdoor adventures, and eco-therapy promote physical, mental, and emotional resilience and wellness through immersive experiences in nature which support healthy, thriving communities committed to the future stewardship of the natural environment.

The programme is fully inclusive from babies through childhood to adulthood, and spans schools and community groups as well as more focused and targeted work with children and adults facing challenging circumstances such as care experienced young people, refugees, and those with addiction issues and homelessness.

Our team lead nature-based sessions, including Holiday Forest School Clubs for children eligible for free school meals, and we have developed impactful partnerships with Koala North West, Barnardos Young Carers, Mersey Youth Association, Comics Youth, Wirral CAMHS and Open Door Charity delivering nature based interventions benefitting young people's mental health.

Grow-Wellbeing is deeply embedded in the communities it serves and uses its voice to drive meaningful change by actively participating in key discussions and decisions on pressing sustainability and environmental issues. This includes membership of the Wirral Cool Communities group, LCR Green Social Prescribing Group, NHS Wirral Place Strategy and Transformation Group, NHS ICS and ICB Sustainability Groups, LCR Local Nature Recovery Strategy Advisory Group and the LCR Nature Connected Board.

Grow-Wellbeing is an approved learning and training provider of outdoor courses including gardening and forest school awards, and is a partner in research projects centered around nature and children and young people’s creativity and mental health. Partners including Edge Hill University, Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool University and Kings College London.
