Our primary aim is to nurture and advance the sport of cricket across all tiers of the community and within the sporting world. We are dedicated to offering chances for leisure, coaching, and competitive play. Membership in the club is accessible to anyone who shares an interest in cricket, regardless of their gender, age, physical abilities, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion, or other beliefs.

Why the community needs us
Grumpy Monks Cricket club serves as a source of positive values, community engagement, and youth involvement, enhancing the overall well-being of its members and the wider community.

Our impact on the community
The team experiences a strong sense of community, with many of us being permanent residents of the UK originally from the Asian continent. We've taken the initiative to launch projects aimed at dismantling barriers faced by British South Asian communities in accessing sports. Our project is designed to reach out to individuals of all age groups, promoting consistent involvement in cricket, whether it's through active participation, spectating, or volunteering. To facilitate this, we've organized regular cricket sessions led by a community coach in nearby local playgrounds or indoor facilities, creating opportunities for people to engage in the spor

Outcome we are aming for:
This initiative not only promises an enjoyable introduction to cricket and access to equipment for communities previously lacking these resources, but if effectively sustained, it also has the potential to enhance scouting opportunities for talented young individuals. The project's impact will extend beyond, encompassing the acquisition of vital life skills such as communication, social tolerance, teamwork, and self-discipline, igniting a passion for pursuit. Additionally, it will contribute to the improvement of participants' physical and mental well-being, fostering greater community cohesion.
