We deliver interventions combining psychological therapy with interaction with owls. We aim to help people to achieve their full potential in life. We work with: vulnerable children with complex needs incl autism; people living with cancer; people living with depression & anxiety disorders; veterans with PTSD; young adults with autism & down syndrome; older people to reduce isolation; we visit hospitals and hospices, & with children and young people who have experienced abuse.
Why the community needs usWe benefit the community by changing lives. We help people with mental health issues to continue their education, start work or return to work. We help families to stay together. We help people going through difficult times to face their challenges positively. We help people with autism to achieve more. We are currently developing a way for young people with autism to develop the skills necessary to get jobs in falconry as less that 15% of autistic people in the Uk get jobs.
Our impact on the communityWe offer sessions that are designed to engage people in subtle ways, by using specially trained owls in our work we get through where other interventions haven't worked. The presence of Murray a burrowing owl helps clients to relax & that's when the therapy can begin. We work with 100s of children every year & several 100 adults. We visit individuals going through cancer treatment. We improve self esteem, confidence, general wellbeing, reduce isolation, improve opportunity for employment.
