Why the community needs usCricket is more than just hitting a bit of cork with a stick on wood on a patch of grass, it's a way to allow people to develop physically and allows them to foster social relationships with other players, other families and the local community. Our aim is to have an open and welcoming family club ethic to enable full member involvement & and ensure that our cricket club is an integral part of our local community. We work with many partners (schools, police, Vinspired, Middx Youth Trust etc.)
Our impact on the communityFor 125 years we played in a council park but in 2009 found a ground we could at last call our own. When we arrived it was neglected but since moving there we have repainted, cut back overgrown hedges, rebuilt the social area, replaced broken windows with double-glazed and loads more. This was done by our members volunteering time and by applying for grants. No one at the club is paid, not even the groundsman. All our funding comes from member fees, fundraising and looking for grants.
