Haslemere Musical Society is a registered charity which was established in 1923. The objects of the charity are to "educate the public in the art and science of music, to enable members to make music together at regular rehearsals of choral and orchestral works under the direction of skilled musicians appointed for the purpose, to perform such works at public concerts and offer concert-goers value for money and from time to time to commission new works for performance by the society."

Why the community needs us

Haslemere Musical Society has been a major part of the musical life of South West Surrey for over 80 years. We are one of the few amateur societies in the UK to have both a choir and an orchestra

Our impact on the community

Membership is open to all, with no auditions for singers or string players, and members benefit from rehearsing and performing under and with professional musicians and with professional soloists. Local audiences are able to hear three or more concerts per annum of classical music, both orchestral and choral, of a high standard. By fundraising we aim to keep both our subscriptions and ticket prices at a level affordable by as wide a section of the community as possible.
