We aim to raise the academic achievement levels of children in Hastings and the surrounding area through overcoming barriers to learning and helping children aspire. We provide co-ordination for over 22 local nurseries and schools to access the Thrive and other Programmes which help core educational development through wellbeing, as well as english and maths hub support. We also help children to aspire through creative events in the community with a WOW factor.
Why the community needs usOur aim is to increase the core skills of children and build in emotional resilience enabling them to react to their environment with confidence and skills in their relationships at home, work and in the community. Too many children from deprived areas don't meet developmental milestones and lack confidence which can lead to exclusion and anti-social behaviour. We help children feel valued in their community and aspire to be the best they can be.
Our impact on the communityWe measure our success with increasing numbers of children better prepared to start Primary school, a reduction in school exclusions, increased numbers of children have core maths and english skills, and more children going into further education with better exam results. Nothing gives us more pride than a teacher saying I transformed my class after Thrive training.
