HCS works largely with the Indian community though people from all faith and background are welcome to our cultural functions. The charity works towards greater awareness of Hindu culture, values, traditions amongst children and young adults from the Hindu community. This helps them develop a healthy identity and improves their integration with the larger community. We also work to reduce social isolation of our elders providing them opportunity to socialize and integrate
Why the community needs usProvides young people with opportunities to develop and demonstrate their dancing, musical and social skills. It helps them gain knowledge of their ethnicity and culture builds their confidence and self esteem. The elderly members are less isolated and feel more supported by the larger community.

This helps them develop a healthy identity of themselves and improves their integration with the larger community. The community as a whole gains from support of each other and does not feel culturally isolated.
