We exist to maximise the outcomes for children and young people who face disadvantage or discrimination in their daily lives. We support each other on many levels and welcome other like minded families into our group Aims: Children and Young People: Reduce isolation; Preserve health and well being; Advance education; Promote recreation and other leisure activities. Parents and Carers: Improve the quality of life through provision of opportunities for learning/development and social interaction.
Why the community needs usWe provide a safe, non judgemental environment for families to come together, play, feel less isolated and share information and experiences. We try and reduce the everday pressures vulnerable children face which impacts negatively on their lives and how they achieve at school. By improving children's communication and social skills, confidence and self-esteem, and giving children a chance to explore and maximise their potential.
Our impact on the communityThe children benefit from improved physical, mental and emotional well-being. Lack of self esteem and a sense of belonging is common to our group. Parents/carers and siblings are included and all benefit from our group activities. We support children and families by empowering them to enjoy and achieve. Our parents and carers have opportunites to improve their parenting/life/coping skills by buddying/mentoring and training which has a positive effect on long term outcomes for the children.
