Hiraeth Hope Sir Benfro - a charity in Pembrokeshire, which supports refugees and asylum seekers
We are an umbrella group, supporting 3 groups aiming to resettle refugee families in their communities through the Home Office refugee resettlement scheme, and to assist asylum seekers in the area. Assistance includes finding local accommodation, advancing education and training - particularly English lessons, helping with health issues, and awareness-raising with members of public about the issues relating to refugees and those seeking asylum.
Why the community needs usOur impact on the communityThe three local groups, Croeso Abergwaun in Fishguard, and Croeso Arberth in Narberth, and Croeso Hwlffordd in Haverfordwest are now helping refugee families to settle in these communities. We have discontinued the website, and the email address no longer works, but please go to Facebook for more information about each local group. Hiraeth Hope would like to offer thanks to the Worleys for their fundraising on our behalf, which raised £88.75 including gift aid - well done all of you.
Volunteers are needed in each of the three Croeso groups, to help with the resettled families, and in each group there may be asylum seekers who need assistance.
