Home-Start Colchester was set up in 1996 and we have continued to offer a service to support local children and their families ever since. We have also extended our reach to not only cover Colchester but also South Tendring where almost a third of all children in Tendring are living in areas of high deprivation, with 26% living in poverty – the highest proportion in the county. Jaywick is the most deprived area in England and seven out of 90 of Tendring’s LSOAs (Lower Layer Super Output Areas) are amongst the most deprived 10% in England.
