To provide a range of therapeutic support to individuals suffering from mental health and addiction and their families. Sessions help provide a nurturing environment to provide physical and emotional support helping to improve quality of life by reducing symptoms associated with various conditions, their medications and treatments. Therapies also help to reduce associated effects of anxiety/stress/depression experienced.

Why the community needs us
The complementary therapies and counselling services provided by the humane touch provide invaluable help and support to individuals. This helps reduce levels of stress and anxiety enabling people to feel more confident and able to deal with the stresses of everyday life. By reducing stress and anxiety levels people feel more empowered to take control of their life. People feel more relaxed, sleep patterns improve and people feel more able to gain employment after a period of absence.

Our impact on the community
The Humane Touch delivers approximately 30 complementary therapy sessions per week to vulnerable individuals. The results of receiving complementary therapy's include improved physical and emotional health and wellbeing, a reduction in the symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression, improved sleep patterns, a reduction in an array of physical symptoms including reducing aches and pains in the muscles and joints, tension, headaches/ migraines, relieving digestive conditions, sickness and nausea.

There is no judgement here, just a listening ear from someone who understands, a shoulder to cry on, and the offer of some practical tools and skills that you can use to improve your situation and regain control of your life.

Volunteers needed

Humane Touch offers a wide range of complementary therapies to vulnerable families affected by drug or alcohol misuse, to families and sufferers of cancer and other life threatening illnesses. We are looking for volunteers who have compassion, personal/professional experience who can help with 1. complementary therapies 2. governance of the charity. 3. fundraising initiatives and events. 4) administrative skills
