The Club aims to promote a cohesive society through a sport and leisure activity that allows male and female of all ages and physical abilities to compete in a social atmosphere. Our Community Project enables the very elderly and those adults with additional needs to participate and interact with each other playing the game.
Why the community needs usThe number of older people in our population is increasing. It is important to keep our older citizens active and engaged in a social atmosphere which fosters mutual support. Marginalised members of our community are given the opportunity of conversation, friendship and activity at our club. We are also maintaining an historic amenity which dates back to beyond 1747.
Our impact on the communityMore special interest groups have heard of our activity (eg. Parkinsons and Alzheimer)and have asked to join our community group. It helps more people, particularly the over 50s, to stay active and socially connected.
