Formed in May 2001, the association works for the wellbeing of residents of the Hythe area of Colchester, improving life chances and opportunities through education, leisure and recreation, mental and physical health based activities.

The centre benefits the community and other local charities by hiring out halls for meetings and clubs and also involves the local community by hiring out halls for birthday parties, wedding receptions and other celebrations from youth clubs for young people, club meetings, support groups for vunerable people, parent and toddler groups for families and classes for people wishing to learn a new language or a new hobby. From dancing to bridge club, yoga to photography, there's something for all.

The centre has held many fun days. These pull in large crowds to see the work that we do as a centre, and the work of the hirers, aswell as bringing the community together to one big event. We have also held summer activity events, such as week long theatre and music workshops, resulting in the children putting on a performance to friends and family of the routines they learnt over their workshop. This enables the childrens parents to see their childrens talents and help their confidence grow.
